HEARTSTOPPER VOLUME 1
TWO YOUNG PEOPLE MEET, BECOME FRIENDS AND THEN LOVE BEGINS.
I feel like I just finished the first half of a sweet movie. I little ache in my soul, excitement about what will happen in the future…
Alice Oseman‘s Heartstopper Volume 1 was such a sweet love story that it made me feel great for a short time. From the moment it was translated into Turkish thanks to Yabancı Publications, Charlie and Nick’s love is always present. Although it is a sweet and ordinary love story, the drawings, expressions and message in the comic were great. That’s whay the story of two sixteen-year-old high school students at Truham Boys’ High School finding himself revealed some very sweet scenes. Charlie Spring’s scenes were particularly sweet.
Heartstopper Volume 1 focuses on the story of two sixteen-year-old high school students finding themselves at Truham Boys’ High School. Charlie Spring is skinny and tall. After the bullying he went through, he announced that that he was gay to the whole school and later got rid of the bullying. He became the most populer person in school. When Nicholas Nelson arrives in his classroom, he is unaware that his life will change in a completely different direction. Unlike Charlie, Nick portrays a heterosekxual man. He plays on the rugby team, a populer game in school. He is tall and unlike Charlie, he is extremely molded. When Nick becomes friends with Charlie, he will question some moments in his life and learn what love and friendship mean.
According to volume one, love is sweetly told through the eyes of Charlie and Nick. So sweet i said my summary of the book might be sweet. At the same time, 26-year-old writer Alice Oseman wrote and illustrated her own story. The cover and edition of Yabancı Publications were just as sweet. 🙂
Charlie and Nick are at the same school, but they’ve never met … until one day when they’re made to sit together. They quickly become friends, and soon Charlie is falling hard for Nick, even though he doesn’t think he has a chance. But love works in surprising ways, and Nick is more interested in Charlie than either of them realised.
Heartstopper Volume 1 consists of 288 pages and two parts. The first part is ”Meeting” and the second parts is ”Eclipse”. As the story ends on page 263, we then read two pages from Charlie’s diary. There are drawings of what they wore school, little introduction cards of the characters and details of Nick and Charlie’s music tape. This story will definitely help you get back to your sweet dreams of love.
HEARTSTOPPER VOLUME 2
With Heartstopper Volume 2, Episode 3, ”The Kiss”, Charlie and Nick’s love continues unabated. This time we focus on the story of Nicholas Nelson’s self-discovery.
Heartstopper Volume 1 ended with Nick leaving Charlie alone minutes after he kissed Charlie in the ballroom. Afterwards, Charlie couldn’t sleep that night and blamed himself for his wrongdoing. Nick is equally upset about leaving Charlie there, but getting through all of this has taken a sleepless night.
The next day, Nick comes to Charlie’s house to apologize for what he did. He had to flee because he was unaware of certain things about himself. Charlie blames himself for making Nick feel bad, and their love for each other rekindles as they begin to apologize. Although Nick still avoids telling people about this situation, he knows that they will get over it in time.
Heartstopper Volume 2 was a book focused on Nick this time. Thanks to Nick’s understanding mother, Nick’s journey of finding himself has also become something he can handle for a while. At the same time, it was extremely important to have supportive peers around them as opposed to real life in the book.
Nick and Charlie are best friends. Nick knows Charlie’s gay, and Charlie is sure that Nick isn’t. But love works in surprising ways, and Nick is discovering all kinds of things about his friends, his family and himself.
We know what’s going on today, and many people are heartbroken because of it. Sometimes it is forgotten that love is just love. Two annoying words called ”social pressure” can make people uncomfortable, and unfortunately most people don’t mind. I don’t know, it’s uncomfortable for both parties. In some parts of our society, even the male-female relationship is met with judgmental looks. We are becoming a truly obscure and at times frightening society. This topic may be open to discussion in some places, but i am in favor of closing it now.
Heartstopper Volume 2 is a heart-warming story n every page. I finished it in less than an hour. His pictures were sweet and very professional. While the first volume focuses on Charlie, the second volume focuses on Nick. I’m really curious what will happen in the third volume.
I had heard in many places that the series was coming to Netflix. I wonder what kind of atmosphere it will be in. In the second volume, we take a small look at the life of Tara, who used to be in love with Nick and is now a lesbian. More space may be given to him in the third volume. I had a great time with both volumes. I can’t wait for the third volume of Charlie and Nick’s story.
