“Wit beyond measure is man’s greatest treasure.”
Harry is counting the days for Hogwarts to start as soon as possible at the Dursleys, where he spends his vacation this year, as every year. One summer day, while sitting in a park on Privet Drive, Little Whinging, his cousin Dudley suddenly teases him with his friend. Before long, two Dementors who shouldn’t be there appear in the park. Harry casts a Patronus spell to protect himself and his cousin. This will be the first of Harry’s turmoils.
Before going to school, Harry began to deal with the problems of his fifth year at Hogwarts. It is claimed that he violated the Hogwarts school rules by fending off two Dementors in Little Whinging. Upon receiving a letter that he was expelled from school, Harry is having the worst day of his life. Luckily, Dumbledore made sure that this was enforced by the Ministry of Magic tribunal. Harry’s test will actually begin now. Even though he is only fifteen years old, he will appear in a court where adults are in the minority this time, which makes Harry very uncomfortable. At the same time, the problems of adolescence will make communication with those around them difficult.
He’s back from the brink of being expelled from Hogwarts, albeit with some difficulty. Before school starts, within the scope of Order of the Phoenix Headquarters, the Black family home, which is used by his godfather Sirius to hide himself, is the guest at No: 12 Grimmauld Square. Here, he stays in touch with the people he loves in the Order and those who believe in him about Voldemort’s return. This will provide the ability to cope with some of the details and problems that way occur before going to school. But it doesn’t always go the way he wants. Things took a very different turn with Voldemort’s rebirth.
When Harry returns to school, he encounters many other problems rather than relief. A Proffesor from the Ministry of Magic will be recruited into the school this year. Dolores Umbridge, professor of Defense Against the Dart Arts, has a voice when they don’t realize it and puts the school under her auspices. However, Harry can’t prove it to anyone, after losing his friend Cedric to the unfortunate event that happened to him at the triwizard tournament last year. Likewise, he cannot prove to anyone, including the minister of magic that it was Voldemort who killed Cedric and that the dark lord is back with it. This will strain throughout the school year, causing friction with some of his friends. The nervous breakdowns of adolescence and the problems that Voldemort has in control of his mind will also come to light. As if he has no problems, he has to take the special O.W.L (Ordinary Wizarding Level) exams for his 5th year.
The new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor Dolores Umbridge, will have a theoretical language rather than giving hands-on defense lectures throughout the semester. However, rumors of the Dark Lord’s return put fifth graders in a difficult position. After a while, they gather the students who want to learn magic to defend themselves on Hermione’s suggestion and what they talked about at headquarters. They form a group under Harry’s leadership. They will call it Dumbledore’s Army.
This group, which is extremely innocent for themselves, encounters an unexpected situation after a while. They find themselves faced with a much greater obstacle to overcome. As Harry tries to cope with his journeys into Voldemort’s mind, he realizes that the Ministry of Magic has something in the Department of Mysteries that the Dark Lord is looking forward to. He sees that he is willing to do anything to get it. While following this adventure that will take his life to a whole new dimension, Harry will also face the disturbing problems of his past as he goes with his friends.
Oh what can I say about it?
It was one of the longest books I’ve ever read. I finished the book in a week without understanding how 975 pages went and how it happened. And once again, I realized that the book is much more incredible than the movie. Above, I tried to talk about the subject without skipping some things and giving spoilers, I had a hard time. I mean, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix was a great book!
Of course, the books and movies don’t match, but the movie is too shallow when looking at the book. Of course, considering that it would be difficult to adapt the 975 pages into a movie. However, I believe that movies adapted from the book should be considered a little more. There were such obvious changes that I couldn’t understand how they would change so much, it made me a little sad. Still, the movie can be watched visually, at least that’s how I watch it, and when I read the book, there are no details that I find difficult to visualize.
Oh sure, I was super pissed off at Dolores Umbrige. As in the movie, it was much more irritating in the book Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
It was great that students took the O.W.L exams one by one in the book Harry Potter and the Order the Phoenix. I felt as if I was in the process of the difficulties they experienced during the fifth grade. This is where the magic of books comes from. Do not think about how 975 pages will end, it ends before you understand how. You will love fifth book of Harry Potter even more.
