”There is nothing to be feared from a body, Harry, any more than there is anything to be feared from the darkness.”

Many different problems await Harry when he arrives at Hogwarts this year. While various trouble signals sounded during his meeting with Professor Dumbledore before school started, fears Voldemort’s return were also more widespread in the school than before. Now, this turmoil has also started in the Muggle Wold. Harry is determined to both deal with the situation and find out what Slytherin student Daroca Malfoy is up to.

Harry, who was supposed to go to the Burrow before school starts as usual, has made a change this time. After Dumbledore takes him from the Dursleys, they spend time together before the Burrow. Dumbledore, like every yea, makes efforts to bring a professor to Hogwarts this year. Of course, every year, the professors he brought in from outside somehow caused trouble for Harry. The professor this year is Horace Slughorn, the head of the Slytherin building, who used to study at Hogwarts. He thinks he needs Harry to invite him to school, which, as always as, is correct. At the same time, Harry had his first experience of incarnation, thanks to Dumbledore.

Shortly before school starts, Harry goes to Diagon Alley for sixth grade shopping with the Weasleys and Hermione. There, he sees the Weasleys twins, Fred and George, have turned Weasleys Wizarding Wheezes into a wonderful place. While shopping, Harry notices Draco Malfoy acting strangely. He takes action to observe this situation closely, but can’t catch much. He only sees his enter a dark place called Borgin&Burkes, which causes Harry, Hermione and Ron to become suspicious.

Harry wonders what Draco was up to in the compartment during the Hogwarts express. He takes action without wasting time to find out. This move will almost cause huge events for him, but as usual, he narrowly escapes.

Harry is close to the opening feast. Thinking that Horace Slughorn will become a Defense Against the Dark Arts professor in the new school year, Harry sees this notion as misplaced. Professor Slughorn will teach the potions class that Professor Snape does every year. Professor Snape is placed each year into the Defense Against the Dark Arts professorship, the position he thinks he deserves.

Problems continue to befall Harry. During his potions class, he stumbles upon the ”Advanced Potion Making” book by someone named Half-Blood Prince, and thanks to the notes in it, he rises to an unexpected position in the potions class. He achieves it all thanks to the person he doesn’t know who he is, only his title is Half-Blood Prince.

During his busy year, Harry will also take private lessons from the headmaster, Dumbledore, while trying to learn what Draco Malfoy has been up to. These lessons are part of Dumbledore’s plans to prepare Harry for the future by transporting him to the past thanks to the Pensive. Harry tries to cope with the problems that befell him, but Voldemort’s return will continue to cause the loss of the people he loves.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince…

What am I supposed to the say? Ah, I know I have a lot to say actually, but I don’t know where to start and what things to say. In other books, I always try to deal with the same feelings and have trouble finding the words to write. Harry Potter… I think watching his movies over and over and still reading his books impressed me immensely. I’m sure most of you would like to start reading without anything like me, and many of you being a Potterhead, might be ashamed to have just read it. But believe me, whether you read it for the first time or for the tenth time, Harry Potter never goes out of style and never will. It will continue in a cycle from generation to generation.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was incredible. In the first pages we see that Cornelius Furge is the former Minister of Magic. We read of his conversations with the Prime Minister as turmoil spills over into the Muggle World. Those were impressive. In the first books, we think that muggles are not related to the Wizarding World. But we also see that the Minister of Magic is aware of many things through his secret meetings.

As always, the movie had nothing to do with the book. This meeting situation is not even mentioned in the movie. In particular, Harry’s Pensive conversations with Dumbledore were tremendous in detail. We go back in time and investigate the past of Tom Riddle, Voldemort, and read in detail how he got here. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince book officially reveals Voldemort’s past. I read these with excitement. There wasn’t much mention of Dumbledore in his previous books. Of course, he was always a father figure to Hogwarts, as he was to Harry. It was comforting to know that he was there even though he wasn’t there, knowing that he would show up immediately when he needed help. Even the wizarding world that loved Harry and all of Hogwarts, Dumbledore, was happy and at peace to know of his presence.

We did not spend time with Dumbledore for pages and pages in other books. Spending so much time with Dumbledore in this book and going back to what happened in the past made him very popular with us. As if Rowling did all this on purpose… As if asking Dumbledore to pass on what he knows about life to Harry and the reader before he leaves… It’s like wanting to destroy more…
